Can I change my major before i decide to attend? HELP!

<p>Hey everyone!
I got accepted for the fall of 2008 as an astronomy major, but now I've changed my mind. I would really like to do engineering with a minor in astronomy, but since engineering is in a different college than the one i applied to i think im gonna have a problem switching. I'm afraid that if i dont start out in engineering i wont be able to graduate within four years. </p>

<p>Would it be possible for me to change colleges before the year starts? </p>

<p>BTW im a pretty good student and I think Maryland wants me. I had a current student call me to tell me i should come, i got $8,000 of merit scholarship money so far, and i got invited to be a college park scholar. Since they kind of want me at their school, do u think it would be easier for me to change colleges?</p>

<p>What you should do is call the engineering school at
(301) 405-3855 (Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic support) and ask them about changing your major to engineering before the year starts. Engineering is a limited enrollment program, so they have criteria about their school. Otherwise, there is a way to apply to transfer into the school once you get in, but life will be easier if you talk to them and try to switch before your Orientation</p>
