Can i consider SUNY binghampton a safety?

Hi im going to be applying to colleges soon and my list is pretty much set but im wondering if I am correct in calling Binghampton a safety. For refference my gpa is ~3.78 (94 uw) and 3.9 (96 w) my class rank is probably top 10% but there is a slight chance i end up at about 11%. My ACT score is 32 ( 34 e 32 r 30 m 31 sc) and im awaiting my subject test scores but im anticipating high 600 to low 700s in math, u.s and bio. My school doesnt offer many APs but ive taken uswh and apush and am currently taking calc ab, ap english, physics, spanish and apeuro. I got 4s on my history ap tests. My ecs include student body president, nhs, 4 yr varsity baseball, varsity track, a summer job, and a good amount of community service. I am in state and i plan to apply for bussiness. Would this qualify as a safety? Thanks in advance

It will certainly not be a safety if you spell it wrong on your application.

Haha sorry about that. To be honest i havn’t written Binghamton out very much. Assuming i nail that part of my app do you think it could be considered a safety

bump

I personally used it as one of my safety schools, but Binghamton is one of the more selective of the SUNY schools. I’ve known qualified applicants get deferred there (although not flat-out rejected). With your stats and as long as it is financially affordable, it is most likely a safety for you, but if I were you I wouldn’t make it my only safety.

Thank you that is helpful. I will take that advice and try to find another safety to supplement Binghamton

yes, it’s a safety, but you should apply to another school that’s affordable and that you like (Geneseo?) This way, in the worst-case scenario, you’ll have two good choices in the Spring.
