I thought the torture of not knowing if I was good enough for Brandeis would be over once I got my Blue Ribbon app decision, but the decision was that there would be no decision until April 1. Is there anything at all I can or should do now that might help me get in? I’m guessing the answer would be no, but I always feel that I may be missing out on some opportunity somehow that would affect the decision. Should I do something or just try to relax, knowing there is nothing I can do?

Did you get deferred?

ya..from blue ribbon to rd

I'm trying out this idea.

Would you feel better if you wrote or e-mailed them a short note that said, "I want to express at this juncture that Brandeis has been my first choice since the beginning of my search process. On principle, my family urged me not to apply ED, so there was no way for you to have known of my passion for attending Brandeis."

My thought is: if they want to accept you for RD, this won't hurt. If they thought little of your app because they assume they rank low on your list, then it could help. And it would satisfy you that you tried everything.

Thanks paying3tuitions. On their website Brandeis says you can email them an "essay in place of an interview." I wrote an essay that implied that Brandeis was my first choice but I didnt say it outright. Should I still e-mail them? Also, in the letter they sent saying I would be reconsidered for rd they said I should make sure I sent them my mid-year report. Should I call or email them asking if they recieved everything and add anything there about Brandeis being my first choice, that I'm worried about why I was deferred, or even ask them if there was anything else I could do?

I would do all those things:

Email them ask if they received everything and make it clear that Brandeis is your first choice.

Asking if there is "anything else you can do" would not hurt. Not that you can actually do much at this point, but I would think simply asking the question indicates your level of interest.

Good luck!

yes, absolutely good luck

Should I use the main admissions email, should I email the counselor from my area or should I email someone I spoke to before (even though he wasnt particularly helpful or nice)? or does it not matter

How about all three?
Seriously, at this point being a "pain" is the last thing you need to worry about (if you really want to attend).

You are 3rd and long and the clock is winding down, go for it.
