Hello everyone, I was accepted under ED1 for Lehigh University, and this week in high school is the beginning of our 2nd semester and this week is when we can switch or drop 2nd semester electives without penalty. I have a 10th period elective 1st semester and 2nd semester. I completed the S1 course but I want to drop this S2 elective and have an early dismissal. My schedule of courses would be AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Econ, English 4 Honors, and Advanced Video and Film. I emailed my admissions rep the first week of January explaining how doing this drop would be beneficial so I can focus more on my core classes. However though, I still have had no response. So yesterday I emailed the main admissions email and my rep once more. I need to make this decision by Friday the latest. What do you guys think I should do? I really do not want to take this class especially when it means nothing for me and is not required by the school. When I called the lady who picked up the phone at Lehigh, she said she didn’t think the drop of the elective would matter, yet I want to hear it from an admissions rep. Also, my mid-year grades are solid too. I don’t wanna make this switch, then get my acceptance taken away for dropping an elective. Thanks!
You have a very solid second semester and one dropped elective should not jeopardize your admission. Seniors make changes to their schedules, my kids did. I’m sure other parents/students would agree. Lehigh has great people working at the school so hopefully you will hear back this week.
Turns out I got them email and I was able to make the switch!
