Can I double major in Finance and Accounting

I want to eventually work on wall street and I feel like this double major would make me more marketable, so is this option of a double major in accounting and finance available at Emory?

A list of Emory’s majors and minors are listed here:

Both finance and accounting are listed as BBA majors, which probably means you’d have to be admitted to the Emory Goizueta School undergrduate program to be able to major in either. You apply usually at the end of your sophomore year and complete coursework there in your junior and seniors.

You can major in either accounting or finance at Goizueta and in general Emory is liberal about allowing double majors.

However, you’d have to ask the Goizueta School whether they apply finance/accounting double majors and if so whether it’s feasible for you to complete such a program in a reasonable amount of time.

FWIW, I doubt a finance major/accounting minor or accounting major/finance minor would make you less marketable to Wall Street.

This one is REALLY easy. My son is a student at Goizueta. You can definitely major’ in both finance and accounting, In fact, I’d guess that it’s not unlikely that this is the most common double major in the undergraduate business program.

This is the type of question that you should have been able to answer by yourself, but researching it on the the school’s website. Here’s a list of the requirements for each of the ‘area depths’ (not called majors there). As you can see there’s lots of crossover between finance and accounting, including courses that count towards the requirement in both areas.

Thanks for the answer! But I did do research myself but I am A. confused on how double majoring works exactly and B. I know that some other schools that have business programs either don’t allow you to double major or it’s difficult. Like I read that it’s really hard or they just flat out don’t let you double major in accounting and finance at Notre Dame, so that’s where my confusion was from.
