hi college confidential this is my first postt...

I am a junior in high school i currently have a 1.8 gpa which pans out to a 73 weighted avg.
im not dumb im not slow im just straight up lazy the sad truth is i have been told over the recent years i have shown great signs of intelligence i have even been recommended for several ap classes for the past 3 years. i am finish with my 1st quarter and i believe i got a 79 avg. for this marking period grades haven't come out yet thats just my prediction based on my own evaluation.

SO MY QUESTION to you is can i even go to college? and i don't mean community college because my mom would honestly look down upon of me simply because she knows how great i can be. whats the highest i can raise my avg from now to senior year? should i re-class and do a extra year in high school GUYS pleas i am asking for some opinions and assistance at this moment

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh manmanmanman. Junior year is very late to stop and turn around. You need to get atleast a 90 average to be in decent standing (A 2.3-2.5)? I don’t know where that’ll get you but you really have to push yourself from now on. Go to CC for 22 years and maintain a 4.0. Then you can definitely try for any top 100 school in the nation. Make sure you take the required classes needed to transfer

Its hard to say, but your best bet is definitely going to be to transfer. Look at your in state school with the highest acceptance rate if you REALLY want to go to college this year. Keep up with getting better grades and it will show schools that you have the drive to be able to succeed in college.
Also, do you do any ECs / sports / have anything that you are really interested in? If you do, then try to pursue it. I would recommend trying to start a club (like I did) that deals with something that you are interested in. Since you are a junior, you definitely have time to do this.
Also, be optimistic and show schools how much you want this!
Hope this helps
also chance me back maybe?

Here’s a plan: Spend 2 years at a community college then transfer to a great school. Did you know if you get a degree from any of the Virginia CC’s then you can automatically be admitted to Virginia? That’s amazing! And CC is so easy that getting a 4.0 would be very doable.

Another plan: Go to any non CC you can get into (think your local school that let’s in literally everyone) for a year. Get a 4.0. Transfer sophomore year to any good school. I’ve heard of people getting into U Richmond after getting a 2.2 in HS. Your college performance is what matters.

Yet another plan: Go to boarding school for a PG year. Google it. I went to boarding school for 4 years and it was not uncommon for people to spend a PG year up north to try and get that extra little something to get into an upper tier school. If you can get A’s the rest of your junior year, your senior year, and your PG year, you will be competitive.
