<p>Hi, i was wondering what everybody thought about this. If colleges prefer you take AP classes based on what you want to major in (staying with science and math AP for medical) or if they would rather well rounded AP schedule with a little bit of everything. </p>
<p>Also, would AP Psych be considered 'staying with a medical major' for an AP Class?</p>

<p>I would recommend taking the AP classes that interest you most. If you’re interested in Psych, take it.</p>
<p>colleges want you to explore. that inherently means in coursework outside your “preferred major” which, American colleges know, means practically nothing.</p>
<p>You should take an AP course to learn a subject and do well in it and possibly get college credit. Competitive colleges like to see APs, if offered at your school, and high grades in them because it shows you are taking difficult courses. Calc AP can always help. But virtually any others can too. </p>
<p>As to “medical” you should not even be thinking about that issue in making a choice. You cannot go to medical school until after college. You can take any major in college and go to medical school and if you apply to a college and check the box for “pre-med” that information will have absolutely no impact on whether you are admitted because all pre-med is in college is an advisory program that any student who applies can get into.</p>
<p>If instead you are going to be applying for engineering or a science major in college, then a Calc AP and a science AP may be something that will help.</p>
<p>Colleges want to see that you took “the most rigorous courses offerred” at your school. You should above all make sure you’ve taken the highest level class offerred in math & science.</p>
