Can I get any special scholarships with a 36 on the ACT?

I recently scored a 36 composite on my ACT and wanted to know if there are any scholarships that I should look out for where this facet would help. Obviously with any scholarship scoring highly on the ACT helps, but are there any where it is especially helpful or where a 36 is required? I have had a hard time finding information online. I apologize in advance if this post seems entitled, thanks for the help!

What is your GPA?

What year are you in HS?

I am a Junior in high school with a 4.4 weighted GPA

You have an excellent GPA and an excellent ACT score.

Read some of the links in this thread. Check the college websites for accuracy now.

Also, did you take the PSAT and SAT? Any chance you would also have NMF status based on your PSAT score.

Okay, thanks for the link. I took both the SAT and ACT, didn’t score super well on SAT (just retook it), and scored a 1480 on the PSAT which should put me in NMF.

Any chance you come from a lower income family?

No, I’m pretty confident that I won’t qualify for any need-based aid. Paying for college really isn’t that much of an issue, but out of respect for my parents I want to get as much as I can get.

One option with the 36 ACT and strong GPA would be large scholarships given by the colleges themselves a step down from the very top tier colleges. If you are NMF, there are some automatic large scholarships like Alabama.

This year’s NMSF cutoffs are difficult to predict, especially since I believe commended is 209 this year. Since commended was never higher than 203 out of 240, a 209 out of 228 messes all predictions. A 1480 should be safe, but who knows what will be revealed in September?

I just can’t image that 1480 wouldn’t make the cut in every state. Start looking here:

There are some good schools out there that DO give merit aid. Start reading here. You will need to check EACH college to see if the scholarships are still available…some of this information is old. But you can certainly start here.
