Hi, I recently got my ACT scores back and I got a 36! I'm very excited, and I want to know how much financial aid I can receive based on my ACT score. I also have a 3.929 GPA at my high school with a very vigorous course load. Currently, I want to become a doctor and am applying to various colleges that offer BS/MD programs as well as some privates. I know my parents are going to have a hard time paying MY college fees and I want to help as much as I can, but I don't even know where to start! I am incredibly blessed to have such caring parents and want to be as less of a financial burden as possible.

There are two sticky threads at the top of this forum section, for automatic (for GPA and test score stats) and competitive full tuition and full ride merit scholarships (look for the most recent summary list in each thread).

With a 3.929 GPA (if unweighted) and 36 ACT score, you should have plenty of choices for the automatic ones for safety candidates, and decent chances at many of the competitive ones.

You may also want to check your in-state publics to see if they have large merit scholarships specifically for in-state residents.

what will your major be?

Do you need a “full ride” (tuition, room, board, books)?

Or will a full tuition scholarship be enough?

How much can your parents pay each year? $5k? more? less?

BTW…don’t stress too much over BS/MD programs. If you can get a 36 on the ACT, you shouldn’t have any trouble scoring high on the MCAT. Pick a school that you’ll like and do well at.

Are you a NMSF?
