Can I get charged for a single dorm if it’s for a medical reason?

Hello!

So, I recently got approved by my school’s disability department to have a single/dorm due to medical reasons. I wanted to know if they could charge me the regular price of a single or would they just charge me the amount it would be if I were to have a roommate?

Thanks in advance!

The easiest way to find out would probably be to call them and ask, anyone here will only be guessing.

At our school, we were charged extra for the single room. Luckly it wasn’t that much more.

This probably varies by school so you should call the housing department and ask. However, I imagine that if you’re living a single, housing will charge you for a single regardless of the circumstances.

Probably, but it might vary by school.

Did you get an answer @HimeSakura

They are probably going to charge you for a single. You medical condition gives you priority over a healthy student wanting a single, but I’d be surprised if it got you anything beyond that (like a double rate).
