I was trying to exit the fuel station, so my car was moving on to the sidewalk. I was trying to turn right, so I looked on the left side. I couldn't see the right side of me at that time, so I didn't notice two old ladies moving up to my car. So I moved up just a little bit and seemed to have hit one of them. It was nothing major, they looked shocked a bit but laughed and kept walking. I was surprised as well, but I supposed they couldn't hear me from my car, so I also smiled apologetic and used my hand signals to say that I'm sorry and tell them to keep moving. One of the other pedestrians told me to be careful and tell me to back my car up a bit. The other two ladies looked at me again when they got to the street light pole. One of them didn't seem very happy. I wonder if I could get in trouble for this? I couldn't tell if I really hit her or not, but I stopped when I heard them yelling, and I recall moving up just a wee bit.

And shortly after that, I was occupied by that thought that I had to make a quick stop at a yellow light. Not sure what the other people were really thinking. Bad day.

Well of course they aren’t happy! You just hit them with a car! Lol. Since they were fine they most likely aren’t going to be pressing charges or anything…they would have called the police. There’s still a possibility that someone took down your license plate, but it’s unlikely if it’s been a while since this has happened.

For future knowledge, if something like this happens (hitting people, a car, personal property, etc.), you should stop and get out of your car to see if whatever you hit is okay. Yes, you apologized with hand signals, but it would have shown that you care more to get out and ask if they were hurt.

The good thing is that neither of them was seriously hurt. They are able to walk away, so the day wasn’t as bad as it could have been. :)

I think you’re worrying too much. They didn’t seem to make a big fuss about it, so I doubt you’ll get reported. You’ll be fine!!

Edit: Next time (should there be a next time), get out and make sure if they’re okay. If you’re next to a gas station or convenience store, offer them a treat on you if you’re feeling super sorry
