Hi! I'm 13 and in 8th grade. I really want to go to either taftor laurenceville. I just switched middle schools due to bullying at my old one. I am in Algebra 1, Spanish 1 honors, and advanced chem/bio. I would be in advanced english and history but my school doesn't have them. I haven't taken the SSAT but last year I took the SAT and did pretty well with a 460 in reading, a 475 in writing. I got a 330 in math but I'm not a math kid. I've been on a competitive dance tean for 5 years, played the flute in advanced band for 4 years. I volenteer babysitting homeless children through an organaxation called family promise evefy Saturday, and I have all A's in my classes. Do you think I can get in to either taft, laurenceville, middlesex, or st andrews?

I generally don’t comment on “Chance Me” threads, but I wanted to chime in.

Keep in mind that you are considering some of the most selective schools in the country. And that some of the applicants to these schools also took the SAT as 7th graders and scored in the 600-700 (and I’m sure 800) ranges. With similarly good grades in similar or even more advanced classes. My daughter was one of them 4 years ago and was still flat out rejected from one of the more selective schools (not one on your list).

So my advice to you is to see where your SSATs come out and then add schools where your scores are on the higher end of range for admitted students. You can get a great education for more than the 7 or so boarding schools mentioned most often here. Best of luck.

Btw, it’s Lawrenceville not Laurenceville
