Can I get in?

I want to apply for cal poly slo during the winter session. Can I do that? I made the mistake of not applying there at all. Is there a way for me to still attend there this year even though it will be in the middle of the year?

Are you a Freshman or Transfer?
Cal Poly SLO only accepts Fall Quarter admits, so you would need to apply for next year Fall 2018.

So is there a way for me to transfer into slo from csu to csu in 1 year or less?

If you want to transfer to SLO, your best bet is going to a community college for probably at least 2 years (you need to finish all required GE’s and major prep) and then try to transfer. SLO is a very tough admit for transfer students so there is no guarantee. Do you have much AP credit which would help reduce the # of classes you would need to take? CC to CSU transfers get priority over CSU to CSU.

What major are you interested in pursuing?

I wanted to attempt to get in as soon as possible. Are there any other csu that allow winter or spring admits?

Are you a Freshman or Transfer applicant?

I am a freshman applicant.

There are no CSU’s that offer Winter admits for Freshman and you would need to check the CSU Mentor on-line status In August for which campuses may accept Freshman Spring admits. Many will limit the majors available.

In past years, SFSU/Humboldt/LA/Stanislaus have offered Spring admission. You will have to see what is available in August.

Where else did you get in and what were your stats?

Before going too far down this path, you should know that CP SLO is a very difficult place to transfer into, unless you attend a local CC like Cuesta. Last year, they admitted just 1600 transfers and had an acceptance rate around 18% - vs 30% for freshman applicants.

The transfer acceptance rate for Cuesta applicants is nearly 50%.

This means the avg transfer GPA is diluted significantly by their Cuesta preference.
