can i get into a grad school

hello...
i am a college sophomore with a gpa of 3.3
i go to pretty unusual small liberal arts school called st john's college (it is a great books school).
do you think i have chances of getting into a good grad school (i am aiming to get my GPA to 3.5 but it is not something that is stressed about in my school anyway)?
i am feeling lost because on one hand i love my school for its uniqueness and non-competitiveness, but on the other hand i really do not know what my chances are coming from a school like this?
what do you think guys?

Yes you can get into a good grad school. What do you plan to study there?

well St John’s grants you a BA in Liberal arts…the college does not have majors or departments. So you do not specialize in the college, but you end up having an excellent knowledge of Western thought and can (hopefully) handle any kind of a text. The website of the college is www.sjca.edu. (if you are interested).
i am thinking of going into political science after it, but i am worried about the lack of expertise. So i am worried i will have to take a year off even though i do not want too.

If you liked how St. John’s isn’t competitive, then graduate school may not be for you. It is extremely competitive because everyone is fighting for grants and publications. You will work at a fast and strenuous pace to remain ahead of your peers.

Just because you have a “liberal arts” degree without a specific major, it doesn’t mean that you should feel that you have no expertise. Grad schools will definitely look at your transcripts to see if you’ve taken relevant courses. You can also take internships in political think-tanks or in a government office.

Since a majority of St. John’s College graduates in any given class go on to attend graduate school, and many of them at top institutions, why don’t you speak with alums, upperclassmen and your professors/tutors?

Regarding your chances, they are up to you. St. John’s has an excellent reputation and their PhD productivity rate is among the highest in the country.

i will, this year, i just wanted to see what people from outside of the college thought.
but thank you for your answers !!!
