Hi,
Is there anyone here who attended a public high school, lives in a middle class family, and took one honors class their freshman year, and still got into an Ivy, or other prestigious university? Or maybe became the valedictorian or saulitorian of their class? I am asking this because this is the same situation I am in. Thanks!
P.S. my highschool grades like this: cp is 4.0 half point for honors, and full point for AP.
Already asked and answered http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/2095045-is-it-possible-to-become-valedictorian-or-saulitorian-with-one-honors-class-my-freshman-year.html#latest
It would probably be impossible, because even if you had a 4.0 (or maybe a 4.1 due to one honors class), the strong students who’ve taken several AP and honors classes will have GPAs like 4.5+
Your grading system is similar to my kids’ private high school. At their school they name the Val as well as the top 5 students…all of those students were the AP students because their GPAs were 4.6+
As for getting into an Ivy, probably not. Your school offers honors and AP, yet you didn’t take those classes. The ivys and other top schools except their students to take the more/most rigorous coursework that their school offers.
Why do you mention attending a public HS in one thread and a private in another?
Your posts are confusing. Is more than one person using this account??
What year are you in high school???
