I took the SAT during the 6th of October, but I really suck at Standardized Tests. I was just wondering about my chances of getting into the UCs I applied to (UCSC, UCB, UCSB, UCD). I have great extracurriculars (I gave a talk to about 10000 people, demonstrate really strong leadership skills), and a good IB Diploma predicted grade (37/42 without TOK and EE). But the thing is I am an “International Student”, and they say that my chances are lower.
What is your UC capped weighted GPA if your system does GPA? How are your HS grades in comparison to your fellow students? UC’s tend to be more GPA focused than test focused.
Your SAT scores are low for the majority of the UC’s. Your target UC’s should be Santa Cruz, Riverside and Merced.
2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:
UCB: 1360-1540
UCLA: 1340-1540
UCSD: 1300-1520
UCSB: 1270-1500
UCD: 1220-1480
UCI: 1230-1490
UCSC: 1210-1450
UCR: 1130-1380
UCM: 1020-1280
Your chances are not lower since you are International since the overall acceptance rate for International applicants is above 50%. The issue is that due to the high costs of the UC’s, most admitted International students do not attend. If you can pay $65K/year to attend the UC’s with no financial aid, then they would love to have you.
