Can I get into Berkeley??

I am a transfer student and have a 4.0 at community college but I have two W's. Neither W is in my area of study (which is business). I retook one of the classes I withdrew from and got an A but the other one I do not want to retake because it is a very demanding architecture studio course, which is a field that I was previously interested in pursuing but am am not interested in anymore. Will Berkeley overlook these W's?

Maybe, maybe not. Generally, most colleges will only be concerned about it if you have lots of W’s. Two probably won’t hurt. Besides, a 4.0 is a 4.0. I’d apply and see what happens.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

1) Complete all prerequisite courses (see below) with a letter grade of C- or
higher no more than 5 years before starting the business major. If you repeated
or have taken more than one course to fulfill a prerequisite you must use the
first attempt to satisfy the requirement. If you received a C- or higher for
your first attempt you should not repeat the prerequisite.
2) Complete the foreign language requirement (see below).
3) Complete at least 60 UC-transferable semester units (90 qtr. units).

All of the required courses must be completed by the end of the spring term
prior to starting at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

IGETC does not satisfy these requirements.

Please visit the web site at haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad for admission

Important Information for Current High School Students
If your ultimate goal is to apply to UC Berkeley for freshman admission and then
apply to the business major, it’s important that you be aware of the following:
The Haas Admission Committee recommends that you take the majority of your Haas
prerequisites at UC Berkeley and not at the community college. If admitted to
UC Berkeley you will be applying to Haas as a Berkeley student and not a
transfer student. The Admission Committee needs to evaluate how you perform in
Berkeley prerequisites while engaged in Berkeley’s vibrant, diverse campus
community. If you would like to take community college courses while in high
school, the Admission Committee recommends that you take breadth requirements.

Important Information for Current and Newly Admitted Berkeley Students
Once at UC Berkeley students must take Haas prerequisites at UC Berkeley.
Please visit the Haas web site:
[Admissions for UC Berkeley Students, Undergraduate Program - Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley](<a href=“Admissions - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Admissions - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas) for a list of
required prerequisites.
Newly admitted freshmen to UC Berkeley: If you wish to take courses at a
community college during the Summer or Fall term prior to your first semester at
UC Berkeley, consult with a Haas Advisor prior to enrolling in courses at a
community college.

( i see nothing wrong with W)

you’re good man. 2 w ain’t s**t! Good luck!

I would definitely apply. Like someone above said, a 4.0 is 4.0 there is nothing that can take that away. Your chances seem great, just give it a try and apply since you have nothing to lose. I would apply to other school too, since I would say your a shoe-in to some other UC’s. Good luck! :)

I would say super ECs would overshadow the Ws. Complete ALL the required courses for Haas, maintain your GPA and make sure you really do have great ECs, and I don’t think the Ws will be much of a problem.

did you transfer to Cal?? If so, mind telling me your stats? (GPA, major, ECs, etc))

I dont get why people often have this idea that W’s matter for CC’s to UC’s.
