Your ACT falls within the middle 50 percent. So, that’s good. But what is your class rank, and did you take a rigorous course schedule? Four AP classes could be a decent amount if that is all your school offers.

The University of Minnesota provides some great data on previously admitted students by college. You should check them out.

Thanks for your reply. I attend one of the best high schools in Minnesota. My school stopped providing class rank. I have consistently been taking 2-3 honors classes per trimester. Junior year I took 2 honors and AP Euro. I got A-’ s in AP Euro. This year I’m taking AP psych, AP Calc AB, AP Physics 1. Also, CIS German through the U of M.

My Junior year UW GPA was 3.75. I have been getting better each year

Also, I have declared my major which is accounting. I want to become a CPA. Does admissions like when applicants have already declared their major?

You need to specify areas of interest on the application so that you end up applying to the correct destination college or school. Also, they require you to explain why you are interested in those discipline (at least, last year’s application required that). However, you are not accepted to any particular major nor are you expected to declare your major right away. It’s fine to have some areas of significant interest but keep an open mind as you haven’t even started college yet. You never know what course will spark your interest.

Your ACT and your GPA (right at an A- unweighted) should be good enough for Carlson. Three years of science including physics bio and chem are required so hopefully you have fulfilled/are fulfilling that requirement.
