So I scored 2260 in the SAT (M-780, CR-710, W-770), and I plan on taking subject test in physics and math (level 2), and I expect above 700 in each, but that's really all i have. My grades are marginally above average, and I don't have any strong ECs. I'm a US citizen, but I'm in highschool in India.
So how far out of reach is claremont mckenna? Is there a chance that I'd be able to get in?

Claremont McKenna is really big on EC’s and leadership, so unless you have any standouts in that area it might be difficult. Your SAT scores are above average for CMC but I don’t know how much that would help you.

Your SAT is competitive. You didn’t say anything about GPA so that is difficult to assess. Your experience in India is definitely a diversion from the norm and that experience may be helpful to you. Leadership and EC’s are important but there are many ways to define these. It could be helpful to have a leadership position in an EC or to take on a project of your own and follow it through. It is always hard to predict what adcoms will be impressed with but it is safe to say you need to describe an interest beyond straight academics. An SAT score alone won’t get you in but I suspect you have more going on than just that. BTW SAT subject tests are not required for admission but great scores can only help! Your life in India gives you a perspective on the world that most incoming freshmen don’t have. If you can use that to your advantage.
