I am going to be a senior this fall, and i want to know what are my chances at Emory? I have a 3.88 GPA, 1300/1600 SAT score, and a a bunch of hospital volunteer hours, internship with oncologist, med camp, NHS, Wrestling, soccer, and good recommendations. So lay it on me, what are my chances?

Emory would be a reach if you apply Regular Decision… mostly because of your SAT… but if you show interest (visit campus, talk to admission counselor, email them etc.) and if your essays are great, you will have a decent chance at getting in. If you apply Early Decision, I think you have a good chance of getting in assuming that your essays are good.

You will most likely be accepted to UGA. Oh, this is the wrong section by the way… you should post on the “What are my Chances” section.

Thank you Alam1 and soze, this was very helpful. I was wondering what does Emory want most in a Student? My GPA is good basically a 3.9 unweighted, my extra curriculars are good, and i have by the end of senior year I will have taken 6 APs and 9 honors. I know my GPA for them is a little too low, but my math is 690 and CR is 610.

Your GPA is good enough, but your sat score is in the 25th percentile. You do have several interesting extra curriculars, so I that you have a decent chance of getting into Emory. Have you considered taking the ACT. BTW, is your soccer team good.

My Soccer team is good, but definitely not the best. I’m also good, but again not the best. For SAT what would be the the 50th percentile a 1350?
