What do you think?

I think nobody can get into Harvard. lol

People can, it’s just very few compared to the number of people who apply. No one here can give you assurance one way or another with places like Harvard. Just apply and see what happens; good luck!

Do you think I have a strong application?

Yes, I do. You seem to be a solid student with some interesting involvements and work history. You could get in, there’s just a lot of other people with great applications as well. Make sure to apply to a range of schools.

Can you please Recommend me a few schools.
I’ve been living under a rock apparently…

That’s hard to say… there are thousands of colleges out there. Is the only one you’ve heard of Harvard? Also, what do you want to study?

My intended major is international relations or political science.
I made sure my extra curricular defines me, and justify my major.

I’ve heard about Amherst and Brown.

I guessed correctly then, I thought you would say that based of your ECs. I’m a STEM guy (aerospace engineering) myself, so I’m probably not the best person to get advice from as which specific schools. But start with checking out your state universities. The internet can help a lot, even just google a list of schools that offer those majors and see what you find. (Trust me, there’s lots of schools that offer those majors.) Brown and Amherst are good schools, but rather on the selective end (Brown more so than Amherst, I believe.) By all means apply if they interest you, but also apply to other colleges that you know you’ll get in so that you have backup options. Lots of American universities will have entrance requirements based off grades and scores, aka if you have x GPA and y SAT/ACT score, you almost certainly get in. But the top ones are far more selective.

You are an international student or do your have permanent resident status?

Your SAT score range is too vague. 2100+ is a 300-point range. Be more specific.

North or Poly?

@marvin100

I don’t see where it says 2100+. It says 2100 exactly.

So sorry–I misread. Been a long day. Probably should lay off the interwebs.

Anyway, I’d say 2100 is low for the big H.

You need to be VERY careful that you list your accomplisents accurately and modestly. If you list ridiculous ECs then you should be prepared to verify them.

  • "I'm one of the 25 most remarkable teens." By whose measure? And even if true, there's a line between being accomplished and bragging.
  • 3000 hours community service
  • Ambassador for 14 NGOs. Too many. It can't mean much if any one person could do it. Angelina Jolie doesn't do that much service.
  • Interned for 3 law firms. Why not 1, and more than once.

The sheer volume dilutes the impact of these, and will raise eyebrows. You may well be everything you claim, but you need to present it very carefully.

I won an award that said “25 most remarkable teen”
So no I’m not just putting it out there, everything I said was genuine.
My question was if I had a chance or not.

P.s after my hardwork, adjusting to a new culture while maintaining the grades I have. I think winning that award was an accomplishment and I think the colleges would like to know about it.

I’m an international student.

Who specifically is the award from?

The mayor.

I’d say you have a strong application. Sadly, here admissions to a school like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Stanford is a cointoss, essentially. Thousands upon thousands of very strong applicants apply for only about 2000 spots. I feel if you apply SCEA to Harvard, you would be considered very strong and would have a decent chance of admission. Don’t let this discourage you from applying. Sometimes these schools surprise you

Good luck!
