i am a senior high school student from pakistan.
i want to apply to harvard college, undergrad. i wanna do pre med there.
my co curricular activities are:
1. i am the assistant secretary of a welfare and environmental protection society that we have. ive helped raise over 6.5mil for the floods and haiti
2. i am a very frequent debater in national competitions
3. i have done polio relief work in nigeria and sierra leone with unicef.

my academics.....(here's where the problems begin)
i have a very weird academic record.
firstly, my 9th grade mid term sucked!! like 64%. final 75%
10 grade mid term 75% final 85%
11 grade scores 84% mid term 90% final
12t grade 90% mid term 92% final.
so.....HUGE IMPROVEMENTS
i got a 98.5% in my sat.
and ive got some AMAZING life experiences. dyou think i have a solid chance

helloooo…nobody’s replying…did i say something wrong or somethin…??

well for one you said amazing life experiences… really? someone from Harvard would never have that crappy of literary technique.

wow briannabanana. that was just a jerk thing to say. if you are going to ■■■■■, go to the SAT/ACT forum in which they ask about how to deal with low scores. im sure they would be far more accepting of pretentious comments.

shahrezsyed:
when you say 98.5% i assume you mean the percentile. so a 2200?
your strengths are clearly in your extra curriculars. be sure to talk about them in your interview

your test score is in about the second quartile of SAT at harvard. did you do well on your SAT II’s? if you got about 750 on them then you have a pretty good chance.

you obviously have an upward trend in your grades. this is a good thing that colleges look for. as long as you took challenging courses (honors and ap classes) then you should be good.

i wouldnt say you are a shoo-in. there will definitely be applicants more qualified than you; however, you do have a chance. i would say about 30-40%

You grades are very, very low for Harvard, but raising 6.5 million dollars is a pretty rare accomplishment. I would say far less than 30-40%. You only have a chance because what you have done outside of school.

You’re a minority so chances are probably good unless you have an extremely bad record.

And guys, the scores I mentioned earlier were the scores I got in the pakistani system, we have here. I got a 2400 in my sat and 34 in my act and all 5’s in AP biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, statistics, calculus AB and BC. In SAT 2, I got all 750+ in math 1, math 2, biology e/m, chemistry, and physics. And guys, that was 6.5 mil rupees.
And got letters of recommendation from english teacher, physics teacher, head of UNICEF Nigeria and the chief minister of my state
I was scared because, didn’t do good the 9th and 10th grades.
P.S: I am not a ■■■■■ and I got a LOR from head of Unicef Nigeria because she’s my mother
XD

oh yeah and I also have a lot of research experience, an also entered in Google for Education - Online Resources for Teachers & Students
