I'm currently a junior in high school! My cumulative gpa up to this point is a 2.7 and my ACT is a 24. I messed up during my freshmen and sophomore years due to hardships but now I'm improving in school with my grades! I plan to take 2 AP classes next year and I know that LSU has admission requirements for automatic admission which includes:

-At least a 3.0 academic gpa from academic core courses
-Completion of 19 units of the fall college preparatory courses
-At least a 22 on the ACT

I don't meet the gpa requirements but do meet and exceed the ACT and unit requirements. I'm also the first generation to go to college in my family and an Asian! I would like to know if I could get into LSU with these credentials? Also, LSU has rolling admission so does applying early improve my chances? Please help!

I would say you have a decent chance. LSU isn’t too hard to get in to. If you have decent EC’s you should be fine. Are you sure you don’t meet the GPA requirement…? I didn’t think any college had a specific GPA they’re looking for. If you describe these hardships you speak of in your app, they may sympathize with you slightly.

Applying early could help or hinder you. Some colleges see it as you are really committed to going to their school, and others see it as an opportunity to take the most highly qualified students first.

Yes applying early in rolling admissions does improve your chances
Being Asian means you will face tougher competition
But first gene student Improves chances
You would get in
Have fun
