Can I get into MIT?

So, I am applying to lots of colleges, but I only really care about MIT.

Volunteer/essays:
I have Volunteered at a lot of robotics competitions helping kids learn stuff. Also have been holding presentations for club about various topics in FRC. (using for better place essay.)
I have a ton of volunteer work at church, through scouts but Im not sure where to put that.
For Fun essay: Playing games(board, card,video games and finding what the designers intended.)
Major: EECS
Significant Challenge Essay:
Living far away and driving to school for an hour every day. (would get home from band around 10:30 pm)

Interview:
I think It went horribly, but He seemed kinda impressed maybe? I wasn’t arrogant or anything bad.
Portfolios;
I’m considering submitting A marimba solo and some stuff I have made: neural network that calculates PID values, a ruben’s tube, 3d printer I built, etc.

MIT’s acceptance rate is 7.9% (in 2016). I think that your chances are better than that, but still significantly below 50%. You have great stats and a great story.

I think that you will do very well regardless of whether you go to MIT or you go somewhere else. There are a lot of great schools. Good luck!

You’re a well-rounded candidate, but you lack a “spike”. I’d suggest trying to develop that spike and applying RD.
