Chances of getting accepted to NYU CAS/Gallatin?

Hi! I’m losing my MIND over this, it’s really killing me since NYU is my top choice and I’ve been getting hoards of rejection letters from schools close to NYU admission stats. I would just like to not get my hopes up or have some reassurance?

I applied to CAS (On their Pre-Professional Medicine Track) and Gallatin School of Individualized Study and my NYU essay was about my goals to develop an app based on medical/health procedures for children and utilizing all of NYU’s resources – such as their extensive Global Program and Entrepreneurial Institute – to research and find backing for this project.

I am a Korean-American raised by a single mom after my dad gambled away all our money and divorced my mom (this information was hinted at in my essay – my Common App essay revolved around environmental conservation with some personal anecdotes)

ACT: 30
GPA UW: 3.69
GPA W: 4.6 out of 5.4
Ranking: 41/310 (I think? My senior population keeps changing)
Special Classes: AP Chem, AP Psych, AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Literature and Comp and AP Stats

Extra Curriculars:
Member of National Honors Society, Art Honors Society, Latin Honors Society
Officer/Co-President to Science Honors Society
Hospital Volunteer for ~3 years
Online Boutique owner for 4 years
Varsity Girls Swim Team Captain for 3 years
Lectured as an ATTI participant for one year on East V.S Western Medicine
Volunteered in the DR for YWAM for one session, Church mission plus first aid

I was accepted to UMASS Amherst, Lesley U, Clark U, UC Davis and Bentley. Denied from Brown U, Northeastern, Boston U, Boston College, UC San Diego, UCLA and Univ of Virginia (I know, I know – I applied to a LOT of schools and I still have six more to hear back from).

Sorry this is so much info, I’m just a little panicky right now haha. I’d just like to know if I have a teeny tiny chance? But if you think that I won’t be accepted please tell me! I just want to get some peace of mind and accept any notion of rejection before I actually get rejected haha. Thank you so much! And congrats to all the people that got accepted (’:

You have pretty good stats but as always college admissions are a game based on more than a little luck so it really could go either way. I’m sure that’s not what you want to hear but even as a great applicant it can come down to things that are out of your control. As for feeling nervous about NYU in particular because of your rejections, there is absolutely no need to be. Last year I was rejected from GW, BC, and Emory but accepted to NYU so you really never know. On the bright side, you’ll have a definitive answer in less than two weeks so try to find something to get your mind off of it. I know it’s hard but at this point there is quite literally nothing you can do. The decisions have been made and either way you’ll end up somewhere great.

Thank you so much for this @getaclucy (’: It means a lot and you’re right! I just need to be patient haha, it is a waiting game after all. Hopefully happy days ahead!
