Thank you

If you get your SAT up, your chances would be much better.

Your SAT puts you on the low end, but Id say you have a good shot. If you can afford summer session, that would basically guarantee your admission.

I am willing to do the summer session does that help my chances?

If you checked off that you would be willing to start in the summer, then your chances of getting in would be higher. I think you would get in for the summer.

I checked off that I was willing to start in the summer. I also just got back November scores and I read on the penn state admission web site that penn state does not use score chose but the recalculate the sat by taking into account your best score on each of the questions. If on the first test I received a 1700 combined and on this test it was 1720(which is not a huge difference, but if they were to super score it ends up being 1770 which score will they put more weight on and should I take the sat again in December and send the scores even though I have already sent in my application and prior scores by then?

I think you will get accepted for the Fall. You have a good GPA, your involved, and your SAT scores are good…Just might not come as soon as the canidates that have 1800 or higher on their SATs

I am wondering if I should call the admissions office and change my major to DUS if that would give me a better chance at fall admission or if I should wait and see what my admissions decision is and what my act scores are. My sat went up to 1790. What do you guys think?

@lexi…With your GPA, which accounts for 2/3’s of your evaluation, you should not be worrying. It would be nice to have a higher SAT or ACT submittal, but remember that PSU claims to only give these test scores 1/3 weight in their consideration. If you find that your combined GPA / Test Scores do not land within the “bubble”, do what you have to do.(improve one or the other to return to the bubble). Nothing beats sending an email or making a call to the admissions office to “Churn” your application.

If I were a betting man…you are in at UP for Fall.

Thank you guys for the input. I have one more question does anyone know if penn state receives act scores electronically or by mail and is there any way for me to make sure they have received my scores.

They’re received electronically. You can email admissions and ask but if the ACT website says they’re sent, they probably were.

i probably have no chance of getting into up but I might as well try it is my dream school. Applied for the summer in november 20 ( i think they got application on dec 20 or something)
