Yu uw goa is low for them, but yur weighted is good and so is your sat, yur act is a little low also, but try to apply and send everything in before the middle of december…the later you apple the less of chance you have for getting in

unfortunately you already missed the priority deadline (Nov. 30) and after that it becomes much more competitive.

As to other choices, try posting on the “Parents” or “College Search” forums.

Also, it would be helpful to mention what you might study and if you will need financial aid.

I applied in september

And you haven’t heard yet? My daughter applied on October 31 to make priority admissions and heard on Thanksgiving that she was accepted.

Many students who applied even as early as September 1st won’t hear until the end of January. At least, this has been the case in the past few years. It does seem like acceptances are coming out earlier this year.

my status just changed today to “coming days.” Do you thing my chances are good?

are you a recruited athlete? are you an under-represented minority? legacy?

did you check off the option for “summer”?

Im a hispanic and I applied for summer

I think your chances look good. Weighted GPA is a little low.

Good luck to you imazrazyguy57! Let us know how you do.
We feel your pain with the long wait.
My son applied on Sept 1st and has not heard yet either. He is OOS and applied to Smeal for summer.
GPA 3.4 - his HS does not weight
SAT 1820
ACT 29
Rank 23/103 (small competitive school with avg ACT of 28 for his class)
2 AP’s and 2 Honors (few offered @ small school)
Great essay and extracurricular activities
He is a student with a disability (visually impaired) not sure if that affects decision

I applied in mid October and I’m still waiting =( it’s horrendous
OOS of first generation african american
3.5 UW gpa (my high school does not weigh)
1940 SATs and didnt send ACTs
Rank 21/116 at a Catholic High School
3 APs, 9 Honors
Lots of extracurriculars

I applied Undecided to UP, no summer session as I knew my parents would not allow me to do it unfortunately =( I also was not interested in the 2+2 programs, because Penn State is quite a distance from me. I know I’m borderline and could go either way, so I’m very nervously awaiting my decision. Thank God I made the priority deadline though, or I would honestly have no hope with my stats.

im suprised you havent heard back yet, last year I applied at the beginning of november and heard back around this time. Your stats seem in line with university park and I would be suprised if you didnt get in or at least summer session.
