Can I Get Into "Phillips Exeter Academy" With 100% Financial Aid?

Hello there,

This is my first post on this website, so bear with me on my lack of knowing anything about this site.

I am currently applying to the Phillips Exeter academy (As An international applicant & I Need Full Financial Aid)
I am wondering, like many others, what are my chances.

I am applying to the 10th grade, and I live in Bangladesh( A country which located in Asia-Pacific).

I have very good grades, Got A+ in every single subject.(90+ In English 1st,2nd, Physics,Chemistry,Biology,Higher Math).

I have already collected good recommendations from my English & Math Teacher. Because, Both of them loves me most.

  • I'm the Founder of our school's "Science Club"
  • I'm The Founder of our school's "Programming Club"
  • Played As A "Defender(Soccer)" For 2 years At My School's Football Team

Interested In:
I love to play “Soccer” so much. I won best “Best Defender” award for my “Defending Skills”. I’m also interested in “Track & Field”. My personal best is : 100m in 11.39 seconds.

About SSAT exam: I’m Going to give the SSAT exam in January 8, 2018. I will try my best to score minimum 90%. (N.B: Today After seeing my aapplication, “Phillips Exeter Academy” gave me $300 dollar by Becoming my “Fee Waiver School”.)

My first choice will be “Phillips Exeter Academy”. But, If I don’t get selected there , is there any school which will offer me “100% Financial Aid Or A Full-Ride Scholarship”?

So, what do you think my chances are to be accepted?

I doubt it. Youmight want to apply to other schools. Financial aid is largely reserved for US students.

Not at Exeter, although it may be true for other schools.

However, Exeter is not need blind, so the FA need will come into play in the admissions decisions. Applying as an international applicant already disadvantages the Original Poster. Needing substantial FA plus being international is a double whammy.

Other than that, I’m stepping out of the conversation, since I’m of the belief that nobody outside of admissions can accurately chance. Good luck to the OP.

Any other school’s name?

“Why” “the” “quotes” “?”

My understanding is that foreign students at Exeter are generally full pay

Hi All,

I’m currently a 10th grader at Exeter. While the school prioritises domestic students for financial aid, I personally know that the school is generous even for international students in need. I am on full financial aid, and I’m also of Chinese heritage. It is absolutely false to say that all international students are full pay. The administration is one of the most generous in the nation, what with their massive billion dollar endowment.

I think your chances are strong, but ultimately it rests on how you do with your interview. Good luck!

Cheers,

Would it be possible to take your SSATs sooner, so you have a better idea of your chances earlier on in the process? Also, apply to other schools besides Exeter.
