I would like to get a financial aid but since international students has low possibility of getting a financial aid, I’m not trying to ask for financial aid.
Would it be possible?
If it looks impossible (i mean with no hope) i’m trying to apply for other boarding schools.
You're applying to Exeter from an International Day School in Korea - Unfortunately, there are many applicants who apply from junior boarding schools, which are schools that already have excellent relationships with secondary boarding schools (especially if you're applying for 10th grade, you have to know that the majority of the spots are for junior boarding students who are applying out) That being said, consider repeating a grade and apply for 9th grade.
The activities may seem too much STEM-focused; make sure to emphasize debate/orchestra/sports to the same extent as math/science. Also, 99 on the AMC 10/12 might not be impressive for an Exeter math applicant even if your SAT 2 scores for Math/Physics/Chem are 800s. Numerous USAMO/USAJMO qualifiers apply to Exeter each year - Good luck with this year's AMC!
Applying for FA as an international applicant (especially Korean) may significantly damage your chances. Hmm...
Send a video of you playing the viola to schools to show your talent :)
Again, if you did not win a gold/silver medal in KMO 1st & 2nd round, it is better not to mention "Korean Math Competitions" in your application.
Good luck with the SSAT and the rest of your GPA :)
Finally, if you are a STEM guy and want to continue your math career, why not stay in Korea? Going to a boarding school has both advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that “math guys” kinda lose their math skills because they don’t go to intensive “Hagwons” in Korea. Passion for the liberal arts and excitement in life apart from home should be the primary reason to go to boarding school.
Consider also looking at less intense schools! Good luck!
I’m a bit confused why you didn’t get in, you seemed like an excellent candidate. I live in the town of Exeter and applied as a prep last year, and I got in but chose to go to public school instead. The big difference was probably that I was a day student…
