Can I get into UC Berkeley??

I'm going to be a junior in high school and I really want to go to UC Berkeley! I hope to be a corporate lawyer! Do you think I have a chance of getting in?

GPA is 4.333. Rank is currently the top 1%. Hopefully will be at least top 5% for rest of high school.

I haven't taken SATs yet but when I took PSAT at beginning of sophomore year my projected score for the SAT was about 1700-2000. This was before I had studied at all, but a while afterwards, I started studying by taking the SAT Question of the Day and learning some vocab words. I'm taking the PSAT again at the beginning of junior year and should improve a lot, then taking actual SAT towards end of junior year. Also, I scored 90, 94, 96 % higher than other sophomores so I think that was pretty good..

My goal is at least 2100 on the SAT.

I took 2 honors classes freshmen year, 1 honor and 1 AP sophomore year. This has been the most you can take. Next year I am taking the 3 AP classes, the most you can take is 5. Senior year I should take about 4 APs. I think I passed the one AP test I took, and plan to study/try to pass all the tests I take.

The clubs I'm in are National Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, French Club, and another club that prevents drug/alcohol use in teens. Next year I'm joining Speech and Debate and a community service club. I'm also planning to start a club.

I plan to have at least 300 community service hours by the time I apply. I've done a lot of my volunteering at two places, steadily, so that shows commitment, right?

I'm also planning to sign up with a charity, in which I'll be charge of running clean ups in our area, as well as doing some other things to help environment.

I'm going to have an internship over summer with the district office of my area's congressmen.

Can I get in? What are other schools you'd reccommend for me & which schools could be reach, match, safety schools for me.

P.S. Sorry this is so long!!
And are there any other things that would look good?
And any tips for the SAT, AP tests, etc?

If there is anyone who went to Berkeley, or got accepted/rejected, what were your stats and why do you think you did/did not get in.

i know i just posted this so sorry about that. but i really need some more opinions!

yeah your stats and extracurriculars sound right on target for getting in. whats your intended major?

i think i got in because i had scores in the right range, really good extracurriculars, and my essays showed that i was the type of person who would thrive at berkeley. but you can get more of this information from the berkeley thread where we all posted our acceptances/rejections & stats…

Well I want to be a corporate lawyer, so my major would be either pre-law or business.
And thanks!

damn, your school must be easy…

??
is that referring to how we only had 2 AP Classes?

You have a good shot, but it’s sort of a crapshoot.
You might be rejected by Berkeley and accepted by UCLA. My calc teacher told me one year all the guys were accepted by LA, and the girls by Berkeley. This year, one person’s dream of LA was rejected but he was accepted to Berkeley.

Berkeley is easy to get into. Your GPA is good. Just get high test scores, preferably 2200+ and 34+. That, along with writing down a bunch of leadership positions, clubs, ec’s, maybe sports, and showing you were involved in high school, will get you into Cal.

I’d say everything is really good, except I would raise your goal on the SAT to 2200, I’ve heard of people with 2200+ not getting into schools like Berkeley. Also, with your stats I say apply to some Ivys if you like any of them, they will be slight reaches but it’s worth a shot. You only apply once.
