I'm extremely worried that I might not be able to get in. I haven't take the SAT or ACT yet. Can I still get in? My sophomore year is done! Only junior year left.

Someone help me please!

I think you have a decent shot! just practice for and do well on the SAT. the SAT score range for UC Berkeley and UCLA isn’t that daunting, I think you can do it. good luck!!!

Be careful about Calculus BC. It is a really difficult class and requires a lot of Precalculus. I won’t judge by your grade, but make sure you know PreCal inside out

@BBTWD1885 thank you for your input. The reason why my precalculus grade is low is because my teacher makes the course very rigorous(making us do complicated mathematical proofs, etc). It is to the point where it is considered the hardest math class at my school. However, I will keep in mind to reinforce my math skills over the coming summer. Other than that, can you rate my chances of getting into UCLA or UCB? Thanks so much!

@UPTHESKY Yes, the math teacher at my school makes PreCal extremely difficult too, but the students that went through her class master Calculus. So, that’s the one good side of having a tough math teacher.

As for your chances to these schools, take the SAT/ACT ASAP LOL. The ideal time is early junior year before the AP rigor sets in. I am also applying to UCB and UCLA, but I’m applying as a junior cause I’m a sophomore right now and I have already gotten my ACTs out of the way. UC’s don’t look at freshman grades, but the fact that you’ve already taken AP Chem and AP Euro as a sophomore is impressive. A 4.5 WGPA and 3.7 UW is fine, you have a great chance. Just remember to keep those B’s down when you’re a junior.

Wow, is your weighted gpa really 4.5?

@StephanieXu according to my school transcript, yep. Not UC GPA though lol

@BBTWD1885 thanks for your input. I will definitely take the SAT an ACT.
