I am looking to go to UCSB for computer science for fall 2009. Right now I have a 3.62 GPA and if all goes as planned I should have all prep course done besides discreet mathematics and a random data structures class that my school offers once every other year.

What are my chances of getting in? What seems to be the minimum GPA to get into UCSB as a transfer student for Computer Science?

Also, is it possible to do TAG for CS at UCSB even if I will be missing 2 classes?

As for the TAG, you should read the agreement that you signed. For example, in my major, political science, finishing all the lower division classes was not a requirement (I only finished half). It looks like for computer science, you do have to finish all lower division requirements for TAG:

Alright, so if TAG requires all lower division classes then I will not be able to complete it due to the fact my school is not offering those 2 classes.

What are my chances of getting in if I do not complete TAG but only have 2 classes missing?

Nope, only for certain majors. Like I said, I only completed 2 out of the 4 required Political Science classes when I did a TAG agreement with UCSB in 2005. This should have been articulated to you by your TAG counselor at your community college. If the school doesn't offer those classes it looks like you'll have to apply under regular admission, however, I think you should talk to your counselor for other possible options.

3.62 should be good enough for cs @ ucsb. dont worry about it, 2 classes short wont kill, specially if they are classes which are rarely offered.
