Missed TAG deadline

Unfortunately I was unaware of the whole TAG process and by the time I figured it out I missed the September 30 deadline. I was planning on using UCSD for my TAG for Computer Science. I called the admissions office and the lady said if I was eligible for TAG, I would probably have a good chance at being accepted, but find it hard to believe when the major is highly impacted. My first question is, considering I won't have all prereqs done (will be missing the intro CS classes and Diff. Equations), and with my GPA at just above 3.8, do I still have a good chance of being accepted into this major?

I also will be TAP eligible for UCLA, and am considering applying for either Biz Econ or Math/Econ. I know that Biz Econ has an average accepted GPA around 3.93, and Math/Econ is much lower. I am afraid that the alternate major would not be considered equally as the first major, and it seems I have a better chance at Math/Econ given my GPA, would it beneficial to list Math/Econ as my primary major?

Thanks for any help.

I have good news for you, computer science is NOT an impacted major for transfer students. It is only impacted for freshman applicants. However computer science will be impacted for transfers starting 2015, so you are good. You have a pretty high GPA and CS is still an open major at UCSD for transfer, so you have a very good chance at getting accepted.

Thanks for the info! It gives me so optimism haha. Now I just have to decide what to apply for at UCLA and Berkeley.
