What do you guys think. What should I pull for SAT's. I kinda suck at these kind of tests.

I hate Virginia, cause if you dont get into UVA(a prestigious smart school) you have to either go out of state(super expensive) or Virginia tech(a fairly verage school that anyone can get into[I know some one who didnt break 1000 on SAT's and still got in]).

If I dont go to UVA my only other choice is Virginia tech or VCU. Is there anywhere else that is good for Pre-Med.

You should have a shot if you can break 2100 on the sat's but 2200 would be better. Why isn't Willliam and Mary on your list. It is just about as selective as UVA and you might like the atmosphere at a smaller school And it is just fine for pre-med.

your grades are no problem (1st in class - im jealous=) but for the sats, shoot for 2000 + or at least 1900 +... if you do, you can def get into uva

why dont you try some out of state schools?

Whoa... there are other good schools in VA. :) We have awesome in-state options. I don't know of a single person in my class using Tech as a back-up to UVA. I have rarely seen it presented like that: if I don't get into UVA, off to Tech I go.

It's more like UVA- W&M- JMU (of course, much less competitive). The catch with W&M is that much of the admissions process comes down to uniqueness, because almost everyone applying has amazing stats. If you have accomplished some unique things, try for W&M.

yea i thought about william and mary but it just does not have the same atmosphere as UVA(football!!!!). UVA is the coolest at everythin(sports, smart nice people, cool staff, good location, good hospital, good almost everything).

oh also my brother(valedictorian lol) goes to UVA and was wondering if I admissions would look at me like as a legacy or whatever. Would they?

You are in at UVa. W&M has lower admit ratio and higher SAT than U Virginia. At one point had the highest med school admit ratio of any school in the state. Carpe is right though, W&M builds a class beyond stats. If you definitely want the big-time sports scene think about UNC. Its very tough out of state b/c they admit so few, but not impossible.

well first VT is a fantastic school for anything science related. It is designed to be a big school, so it accepts a lot of students, but it is very good for any kind of math/science field.
W&M is a great school and JMU is good too. It's admit rate is pretty high, but you can get a great education there. VCU actually is a very good option for pre-med, and they offer an auto-admit for some undergrads into their med school.
Also, (I don't know if you want to go this route, but) the VA instate schools (UVA and W&M included) offer auto-admission for community college students who maintain a (i think) a 3.4 and take certain classes.

btw- if you want tackle football, UVA is not the place :-)
