Can I have my Journalism Teacher Write my rec?

<p>I have a problem....On the common app it says that you should get your recommendations from your teachers who have taught you in academic subjects( English, Foreign Language, Social Studies, Math, Science)</p>

<p>But I've had my Journalism teacher since my freshman year and I've had 4 classes with him (Journalism, Photojournalism, Newspaper, Yearbook) and I'm also his Teacher's Assistant...</p>

<p>Do you think schools would mind it too much if I had him as one of my two recommendations, Yale says that it strongly discourages Supp apps...so i'm afraid to send one</p>

<p>I had my newspaper advisor write a letter. But it was very strong (I had improved the paper "beyond recognition"). But don't use me as an example, 'cause I was deferred ED at Columbia!</p>

<p>I had my creative writing teacher do one of my recs because like your journalism teacher she has known me for a loooong time (seven years!). i was accepted EA. I say go for it:)</p>
