Can I improve my ACT score by 3 points until the exam in September?

So, I got a 28 on my ACT in June. I got a 32 English, 32 Math, 28 Reading, and a 21(terrible!) science.

Can I realistically bring my score up to a 31 by Sept?

I've been doing science sections from princeton review and mcgraw hill books over the summer so far. Any tips to raise my score?

If you haven’t tried the Real ACT book, you should definitely do that. I wouldn’t rely on Mcgraw though. (Though most say it’s much easier than the actual test, I consistently got worse scores on Mcgraw than any other prep book. I guess I’m an anomaly. Either way, I wouldn’t say it’s totally accurate.)

For science, my tip would be to skip over the blurbs and jump straight into the questions. Usually, you can solve all of them just by looking at the graphs, and it saves you time. Of course, this is just what works best for me, but maybe it’ll help you too.

I hope that helps.

Improving your score to a 31 is totally realistic. Stay focused on that Science exam. AcedeminaNut has good advice, especially the emphasis on the Red Book. I’d add a few more points:

Remember that science is mostly reading comprehension. Don’t get distracted if you don’t know anything about the atmosphere of venus or whatever concept they are talking about, you should not have to. Instead read carefully and look for the answers in the prompt.

Learn to read graphs and tables. This is a very particular type of reading comprehension, generally you have to understand the layout of the table or graph very clearly, once you do the answer is easy to find. For every table make sure you know what each column means and how the rows are different. For every graph be sure that you understand the meaning of the x and y axis and any other symbols used.
