Can I major and minor in an engineering field?

I recently got admitted to Johns Hopkins University (Whiting) -- and I plan to major in Chemical Engineering. However, I am also interested in Environmental engineering...and JHU does offer a minor in Environmental.

Will it be too tough to major and minor in an engineering field? Or would it be okay since some classes do overlap?

its pretty easy, as long as the two are along the same lines...doing something like chemical with aero. minor is much harder, but my guess is enviormental and chemical are close...you might have to take a few summer classer, or do 9 semesters, but it really depends on your school...at my school, its hard as heck to minor and major in engineering, but i doubt JHU would be hard
start looking into CE's requirements, then look at the requirements for minors, and you'll get a feel...most schools (if not all) have a course outline for your 4-5 years, for every single class you'll take every semester for a certain major, and most have info on minors too

Some schools do not allow minors to be too closely related.
