Can I reuse my UC essay for Common App?

Hello,

Can I use the same essay for these two topics (or almost the same with a few tweaks)?

"Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story."

and

"Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?"

Thank you!

Yeah, why not? Just remember to answer the question.

You can certainly use the same basic essay. The common app has a 650 word limit which is different from the 1000 words for two essays limit you had with UC. That may mean you have more or less space for the common app essay.

ok, thanks for the replies!

Just make sure you fit the word count requirements.

A UC admissions counselor told me that it is not recommended that you use the similar or same essay.
