Can I revise my CommApp main essay?

I have already submitted my commapp for two colleges, but now I want to create a new version with revised essays and send it to other colleges.
The instruction says " It is not necessary to "customize" your Common Application for individual colleges." But can I still customize it?

And "All data from your original version of your Common Application will be transferred to your alternate version, with the exception of any documents that you uploaded. You may edit any of this information before you submit it to another institution." Does that mean there is no use if I upload a new document?

Is anyone thinking of revising the essays in CommApp?
What shall I do?

The only way to ‘revise’ your essay is to create a copy of the common app you submitted. Since you seem to have the instructions for that, you should use that method. You can submit the same essay or upload a modified version of the essay you already had.

You need to “Replicate” the Common App, but in order to do so, you need to log in through a different link which allows you to make a true copy, which you can then update with awards, new Personal Statement, and such:

https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Default.aspx?allowcopy=true

You just have to log in, then go to the “Replicate” link at the bottom of the page. You can make up to 10 versions, I believe.

Here is a description of the process, that we used:
