I think colleges won't receive my ACT scores in time. Can I send a screenshot of my ACT scores to colleges? Is it appropriate?
Or maybe I should give them my ACT account's password or something.

Please give me some advice. Thanks.

You CAN do what you like, but whether they pay it any mind is a whole other story. That comes down to what each admission’s officer is willing to consider, and so you have to talk to each one.

Many schools will accept an unofficial score document as long as it is only a temporary stopgap until the official report arrives. As the captain has said above, talk to the admissions office to determine whether their policy allows it.

Do NOT, however, give your password to anyone. The screenshot should be fine, but even there you should be cautious not to include anything in the screenshot but what is absolutely necessary to communicate the scores. (i.e. hide the Word document titled “Harvard Application Essay.docx”)

And don’t think for a moment that you can use this as a way to avoid paying the official score report fees (you can’t), or to Photoshop better scores on your screenshot and then delay sending the real report (they won’t admit you without an official score, and even if they did, they could rescind it once they determined the scores were false.)

I know that you personally were not thinking of doing either of those things, but I mention them for the benefit of others who might stumble into this thread. Your intentions here are honest and perfectly reasonable - just make sure to let the admissions offices dictate how you should handle your situation.

I think it’s ok. Maybe ask the school?

Thanks guys!

If you have the scores, why wouldn’t the school? It’s all electronically filed and available practically instantaneously. If you’ve filed an application on time and they’re missing something, they’ll let you or your GC know in most cases. Scores do not have to be there on the same deadline as your application, there is some leeway generally.

Taking a screen snapshot would do nothing more than simply e-mail the score to the adcom. For most schools, they would allow a week or 2 grace period for supporting documents. While some schools are very strict with the deadline. You should have submitted the score a couple weeks before the deadline anyway.

I asked ACT and they say it can take 2 weeks ~ 4 weeks to send the scores to colleges.

I think I’ll use the Priority Report then.

@rainy311 I sent two act reports to UTK on Oct. 19. They received them yesterday.

Check if the school accept Priority Report. Some don’t and others may actually delay the process at the other end.

Check other threads, you are falling for their marketing scheme to make you panic. Priority Report just a revenue source that is actually slower. Regular delivery is just fine.

Thanks for the answers everyone!
@MrMom62 It’s a scam?
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll just send it the regular way.

It’s not exactly a scam, but they are sort of intentionally misleading. They do deliver the product, they just make you think you need it when you really don’t.
