Can I send part of my application to MIT with out fee?

Can my professors send the recommendation letter to MIT before I send the fee or fee waiver? I mean, will they throw the papers if I send with out fee?

I still have a hard time sending the fee waiver letter to MIT, because I am transfer/I have no guidance counselor.

I recommend just paying for the app first. I mean your sure you’re gonna apply right? Part I is the only portion that needs to be submitted before payment and it is only on your name, address, and other informational stuff.

Alternatively, can’t you just get your professor to hold-off from sending the stuff until you’re ready. Like just ask him to give you his completed stuff sealed in an envelope, and just ask if you can mail it off yourself whenever you’ve made your payment/submissions.

It’s fine for your professors to send in materials before you have arranged your fee waiver. The MIT staff will keep track of what submitted materials match with whatever admission file, no matter in what order the materials are submitted. The MIT online tracking of what materials have been submitted is very helpful, once your part of the application is submitted and you log in to the MyMIT site.

Thank you all,

I am transfer and we can’t use MyMIT. So how can transfer students track their application?
