I submitted my Wellesley application weeks ago, but I was rereading my supplementary essay today and noticed a typo. :( I wrote "alumna" instead of "alumnae." Do you think I can still get in despite this???????????? Thanks for any help...I'm completely distraught.

Stop worrying about it! There are thousands of students who have gotten in with typos. As long as it does not mess up the meaning if the sentence/your writing, it’s FINE! They care more about your grammar instead of your spelling - they understand that mistakes happen. :)

Haha this post is quite amusing. Of course it isn’t a big deal, they’ll get the idea!

You’ll be fine! (: Haha, that’s funny because in my supplement, I meant to spell “through” but I didn’t realise that I spelled it as “though” until 2 weeks later when I was re-reading it!

Yes. My D’s essay had a typo in it that she did not notice until after she was accepted. Her essays were proofread by three people and we all missed it. Don’t worry about it.

I dunno, they have hundreds of qualified candidates who didn’t make any typos.

“Can I still get in with a typo?”

Yes.

It’s really no big deal. I highly doubt they would even notice.

I got in (well, likely)! Truly much ado about nothing on my part. Thanks to everyone for your encouraging words!!! :)
