I'm looking to applying to colleges in USA, and I'm an international student. I go to a school in my home country for my freshmen year, and right now I'm studying in England. But I'm looking to going back to my old school next semester.

By doing so, I will have no grades for the 1st semester of my sophomore year, will this affect my chance of getting into a good college? Would it be ok if I just get a letter from the school in England to confirm that I successfully completed a semester here and maybe a reference from one of the teacher saying that I did well in the school.

In my old school I was in the top 5% of my class, and now in England I'm not doing very well in some of the classes because the teaching method is very different and I have to make up work to take the GCSEs at the end of the year.

What do you think, should I move back and get good grades or stay and take the GCSEs and see how I do?
