I am a high school graduate, class of 2014. I'm applying to college for the Fall 2015 semester.

During the fall of my senior year I was accepted into the National English Honor Society. However I was kicked out after 1 semester because I didn't complete my service hour requirement. Members were officially inducted in the Spring...by then I was out.

Can I still technically put it on my resume for college, since I was accepted to it in the first place?

You can, depending on the application. Read the fine print on each application. Some will look for updates if there is a change in status. Some high schools take it upon themselves to show which ECs their students were officially in.

What does a service hour requirement have to do with NEHS? Can you petition to try to regain your membership by making up those hours?

Whatever you choose, its inclusion or omission will mean nothing to your file readers. It’s not a big deal at all so don’t sweat this choice of yours.

It doesn’t say anything about an updated change-in-status for a club, it just says to write & submit my own resume.
How will I confirm my resume is even legitimate?

& there’s really nothing I can do about it now, as I’ve already graduated and …yeah. Lol.

“How will I confirm my resume is even legitimate?” You don’t. they take your word for it. and that’s why its contents are generally useless for most colleges. Your honor society, especially so.
