So I tried to take APUSH junior year, but I didn't get in just because I had a 91 avg for the first quarter of Global II sophomore year and a 90 average for English sophomore year (even though I had 95s for the next three quarters and on the Global Regents). Right now I'm stuck in Regular/Regents US History (there is no Honors class, just AP) and I think the class is too easy for me (I currently have a 93 average). Is it possible to switch into an AP class one month into the school year if you are doing good in the regular class, because I have no APs for junior year other than a college level Spanish class that I am taking through SUNY Albany, even though I plan to take AP Physics and AP Calc BC next year

At my school, its next to impossible to switch into AP classes after the scheduling period over the summer - see what your school’s policy is and make sure you are able to catch up. APUSH is a LOT of information and it goes by incredibly quickly, a month or more of information lost could be really detrimental in the long run.

Why do you think your regular US class is too easy if you only have a 93? I know a 93 is a solid A but it doesn’t seem like the class is effortlessly easy if you don’t have a 98+. Why not just stick with regular US and then take up an AP history next year after you’ve thrived in the on-level version.

Go for it!

I want to get into NYU or Columbia, so I know I have to add rigor to my schedule, which has honors classes in English, Math, and Physics and a college level Spanish class
