This is the schedule I want to take for my senior year:

AP Biology
AP Macroeconomics
AP English Lit (?)
French 3 Honors
Psychology Through the Eyes of Faith
Statistics Honors

Now, my question is about what math I should take. My school offers precalculus, calculus honors, and statistics honors for math. I really don't want to take regular precalculus, and I would never take honors calculus since math has never been a strong subject (I've taken regular level the past three years: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trig). So, Honors stats seems perfect for me. However, I've heard that most colleges want or even require that atleast precalculus Is reached in high school, and that some colleges don't even recognize statistics as a "real" math class--atleast for people in my position. So, should I take regular precalculus or stats honors? which would look better?

P.S. my dream school is NYU and I do not under any circumstances plan on majoring in anything math/science related.

please help!!! thanks

The answer here is obvious: take the pre-calc.
You should strive to take the most difficult schedule you can, especially for a school like NYU, and more importantly for your own personal learning benefits.

However, if you feel like your SAT and EC’s are your strong points, then the difference between stats and pre calc isn’t that big of a deal.

thank you for your help!

does anyone else have an opinion on this matter?

I think you really have to take precalculus. It’s kind of obvious. Every college would ask why you are taking stats instead of precalc. You might even find honors stats more difficult.

I would just take pre calc. Maybe start out in honors and if you think it’s too difficult, then drop down to regular during the first couple of weeks. A lot of colleges want pre calc over stats, so it would make sense to take it so that you would have the option of applying there.

Take PreCalc. You can’t really take Stats until after PreCalc. Maybe you could drop Calc if you had taken PreCalc, but you aren’t able to do that.

From what I’ve hrd from friends all u need to know is algebra 2 and be good at programing
