I'm taking AP Lang next year, and I'd be taking AP Lit my senior year, so there'd be no point in taking that Subject Test in May of my senior year. However, at the moment, I've only taken the US History subject test (750), and plan to take the World History one this coming year. I want to show diversity, and English tends to be a strong subject. But would it be possible to take the Lit test with only Lang knowledge? I was going to ask my teacher as well, as I had him for a previous English course, so he knows me well, and is also experienced in teaching Lit.

Literature is tricky because of the time period of the works provided, try the questions out on the college board website and see how you do.

I took the Literature Subject Test this past June as a Sophomore. My school doesn’t offer “official” AP classes but many classes prepare students for certain AP tests. I’ll be talking the AP Lang and AP Lit tests next year as a Junior, and I got a 770 on the test this June so I think if you set aside 4-6 weeks with the Kaplan and Princeton Review books (I followed this strategy) you will be perfectly prepared for the test come next spring, especially with an actual AP class under your belt. Best of luck!
