Can I take upper-division courses in my major if I was admitted as a pre-major?

I was admitted as a pre-political science major to UCSB. I am still missing two lower-division courses in my major. I haven't taken Political Science 1 and Political Science 7. I have taken all the economics and history courses they require. They didn't offer the two Political Science courses at my community college. When I get to UCSB for the fall, I know I need to take those two courses. Nevertheless, I don't just want to take only two courses over the fall. Can I take upper-division courses in my major without being a full political science major?

EDIT:
I just checked all the courses that are being offered over the fall. Political Science 1 isn't being offered and Political Science 7 is already full. They must allow people to take more than just lower-division courses if they are juniors, right?

Yes, I think you can...first the upper division classes will be open to majors only...and then they will open to everyone.
