I will complete my associate of science degree this summer at a community college. I live in North Carolina. Here we are able to transfer to a university with an associate of science or arts and begin as juniors at a 4-year state university.

I will not be done with my associates until the summer ( I will have to take two classes in the summer). I really want to transfer to a four year right after the summer. But by that time, most application and notification deadlines have passed. Is it usually impossible to transfer your associates (if completed in the summer) to a university in the fall semester? Does that even seem reasonable? Or should I take a semester off, do some volunteer work at the hospital (because ultimately, I want to be a doctor)?
