Opinions on my fall/spring plan for transfer?

Hi all! My initial plan was to transfer for the fall of 2015 from community college to a four-year, but after much thought I’ve decided to stick it out and finish my associate’s degree.

I am quite literally five classes away from finishing up, and that’s the problem. I was able to design my schedule for this summer and even the fall including electives, and once the fall 2015 semester is done, I will also be done.

So my question is: would it be frowned upon by the colleges I’m considering applying to to finish my associate’s in the fall and take the spring 2016 semester off to work/save up money? (Finances are limited in my household, and it would definitely be beneficial to work to pay off the student loan debt I’ve accumulated so far.)

Obviously this is a very vague question, and probably one I’m mulling over too much, but basically:

Time off after associate’s degree to save up money for future schooling, or spacing out the next academic year to include the fall AND spring?

I don’t think taking a semester off would hurt you at all. Transfer students come in with all sorts of backgrounds.

I’m having the same situation here, and i decide two years ago to do the same thing, but I’m still struggling to get my associates. What I’m saying is with two classes try to do side jobs, and continue your four year degree soon. Try to keep your school momentum while you’re their.
